We’re looking for a Youth Program Intern!

First, learn about us.

We are the Garden Quarter Neighborhood Resource Center (GQNRC). We operate a resource center in the Garden Quarter Apartments in McHenry, IL. The community we serve is low-income and predominantly Latino. We currently run youth programs that involve after-school tutoring, one-on-one mentoring through Big Brothers, Big Sisters, group mentoring programs, and a gardening curriculum throughout the summer months. Our youth also receive free resources such as backpacks, snacks, and access to community agencies. We also work with parents by providing office hours with our bi-lingual Parent Program Manager and monthly parent meetings that include topics such as child literacy and parenting techniques. We are also preparing to offer English classes and computer literacy classes for our parents.
